The minutes of the recent RG65 UK Class AGM have been finalised and published here. A pdf version is also available and that has been published here.
Motion 1 at the AGM was a vote on allowing up to 4 rigs for UK Events. This was passed with a vote of 89% in favour and so an Appendix 1 has been published to the RG65 Class Rules for use at UK events. These are available here.
Motion 3 at the AGM was a vote to allow IRSA 65 Class boats to sail at UK RG65 events. This was again passed with 84% in favour and an Appendix 2 to the RG65 Class Rules has been published here to clarify this.

For and on behalf of the 2020 RG65 UK National Class Association committee
The MYA issued a notice on 17 March stating that all MYA events would be cancelled for a minimum of 12 weeks following advice from the UK Government. You may read their full statement HERE
12 weeks takes us to 9 June 2020 and this timeframe includes our Eastbourne, Watermead and Bournville TT Events.
The RG65UK Class Association will follow this guidance from the MYA and these 3 events are therefore cancelled or postponed.
We will work with the host clubs to see if the event can be rescheduled for a later date and will update you in due course.
Due to the recent restriction and advice issued by the UK Government with respect to COVID-19 it has been decided to postpone the UK RG65 TT scheduled for Eastbourne on 25 & 26 April 2020.
We will look to find a way to reschedule the event for a later date and will update you on this in due course.
EMDYC will be in contact with all current entrants directly.
Yes folks, we are gearing up to start the 2020 season with TT1 in Birkenhead on 14/15 March.
When I was looking at the Birkenhead website earlier I saw that the trees along the edge of the lake are being removed which will hopefully make the wind more stable on those days when we have light conditions – rare occasions….
Anyway, the Notice of Race has been published and MYA Online Entry is available, all over HERE.
That’s it, the 2019 TT is done. Going into the last event the winner was already secured, 2nd was almost safe but 3rd and 4th were vulnerable to a few people who would be adding their 5th score to count towards the series.
In the end all of those 4 places remained unchanged but there was some significant movement in the places thereafter.
15 Skippers took part in the final round of the 2019 TT at Two Islands on Saturday with a number of people needing good scores to get them to move up the overall standings.
Don’t let this picture bluff you about the conditions, it is from a year or two ago
The forecast was for light winds and rain, and that forecast proved to be very accurate. At least the wind direction was quite consistent, so everyone only needed to deal with the big wind shifts caused by the houses, trees, islands etc. Nicely challenging.
it is safe to say that Tobias Laux turned up intent to repeat his performance from the recent National Championships, but he met some stiff opposition from a number of others.
Another very notable appearance on the water was Clive Cockayne’s Sith sporting a single sail rig, which his own admission, was a shot in the dark. It proved to power the boat very well and I have no doubt that we will see it again after some minor adjustments to the fullness.
Sadly we do not have any pictures of the sailing as everyone was on the water for the single fleet racing, and our resident photographer was off at another event.
At the end of the day, John Tushingham took the event win after 20 races with 30 points, followed by Tobias on 44 points and Alex Cory on 52.
So……. you may have noticed, the UK RG65 NCA has a new website.
We have been working to create a new website for some time to make it easier for us to publish information, event details, results etc and here we are, we have taken the plunge and enlivened it.
This is still very much a work in progress so please let us have your comments and suggestions. Just email your ideas and comments to contact@project1-38y1i4dp0f.live-website.com.
And don’t forget to “follow” us using the link you will see on the, normally the bottom right, so that you are alerted when we add something to the website
